- Thomson Multimedia announced the closing of their 1800 employee picture tube manufacturing facility.

- Indiana Wesleyan University broke ground on a new $8,000,000 adult and professional studies building as part of the IWU expansion plan that will not only double enrollment but add 300 new jobs.

- General Motors-Marion Metal Fabrication announced $134,000,000 new investment.

- Double “H” Manufacturing announced a $7,000,000 expansion resulting in 20 new jobs.

- Weaver Popcorn announced a Multi-Million dollar expansion in Van Buren.

- Wal-Mart Chose Gas City as the site for a $60,000,000 distribution center, bringing 850 new jobs.
