Mayor Wayne Seybold, Mayor Larry Leach, and State Representative Tim Harris left for Japan and Korea last
Saturday, June 17, joining Governor Mitch Daniels and a delegation of the more than 50 state, civic,
business, and agricultural leaders.
The visit is geared at building relationships and attracting investment to Indiana and Grant
County. Plans call for meetings with various suppliers including Toyota and Denso in addition to
those being orchestrated by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
Mayor Seybold, Mayor Leach, and State Representative Harris will be making connections apart from the
governor and the rest of the delegation to specifically promote Grant County and encourage manufacturing
companies to locate here.
"We're anxious for any manufacturer to come to Grant County," Harris said. "But what we're really looking
at because of our location is we're looking at suppliers for some of these plants ... for instance, we're
not far from Lafayette, and there's a big manufacturer in Lafayette."
Mayor Seybold, Mayor Leach and State Representative Harris along with the governor and the rest of
the delegation will return to Indiana from Korea on June 28.
