Indiana Wesleyan University continues to meet the challenges of ongoing enrollment growth at its Marion campus. The renovation and expansion of the Student Center and Baldwin Dining Center is nearing completion and will open in August 2006. The new facilities feature a greatly expanded dining and serving facility, as well as a new “Wildcat” food court and piazza. Other amenities include a student business enterprise zone, art gallery, new banquet space, and several new offices.

The university has also broken ground for a number of new facilities in anticipation of record enrollment of 3,000 students. New facilities include a 65,000 square foot Academic building for communications, broadcasting, language & literature, and behavioral sciences. In addition, a 311-bed residence hall complex is underway on the east side of campus and a new 70,000 square-foot sports complex and tennis center is being constructed at the athletic complex to the south. In total, IWU has awarded nearly $15 million in construction contracts to Grant County businesses in recent months.

In addition to the growth of campus facilities, IWU continues to add jobs to Grant County. Fiscal year 2006 – 2007 will see the addition of 35 new faculty, administrators, and staff to the university payroll, bringing total employment close to 900.
